Hearts on Hearts

2/10/2014

I love love and I love February because it gives you a whole month devoted to all things love. We have had crazy winter weather this month resulting in a few snow days which has delayed some of our after care activities, obviously.

Up first: Heart People
This is my all time favorite valentine craft, an oldie but a goodie. I stretched this out over the course of the week as some littles wanted to do it on one day, others on other days. But this one, I had to grab a picture of - what a hoot!

During the week I also posed this question before and after school on our art table. What other animals could we create with only using hearts? To be honest, I noticed a lot of my pre-kers just wanted to make what I made, which is ok, but we didn't brain storm a ton more ideas. Except for our little bug guy and the bumblebee.

Bug guy? What animal is this?!  The question I'm asking myself...

Finally, to work on counting, matching and math skills I created these heart puzzles. One side with the numerical number and dots on the other half. Mix it and match them up! I've only created up to ten but plan on adding more to my collection as well as laminating them for damage control.

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend and can't wait to share this week's activities with you soon! Pray that we can have a full week of school and crafts!
