Best of 2013
12/31/2013
I am slightly obsessed with Carly over at The College Prepster - major fangirl and I love everything about her blog! Go check it out and see what I'm talking about. Every year she posts her top ten of the year and well, it has inspired me to reflect on my top ten of the year.
One: School
This year I started at ISU in the education department and totally fell in love with teaching and my campus. I've been blessed to be accepted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honors society for educators and as of late, the Honors Program at ISU. I'm slightly sad that I only have three semesters left in school (again, only slightly) because I'm loving my time at ISU.
Two: 21!
I turned 21 this year! I'm not a huge fan of drinking but it always exciting to be of legal age and get that side ways drivers license, which my picture wasn't that horrible!
Three: Godly Friends
After moving to Illinois, I've been stuck in a lonely time of life with not a lot of friends. Over the summer I found myself praying and crying out to God for good Christian girlfriends that would be there to build me up, be my friend and walk with me through this season of college. Thank the Lord for a God who listens to the prayers of his children. This last half of the year, I've been blessed beyond words with a small group of women who have truly become my best friends and I'm so excited for this new year with them!
Four: Four Years with Jonny
This year marked four years with my love and two full years of being long distance. It has been challenging but so fruitful. The Lord has continued to show us that we're walking in his will and marriage will some day be in our future. Gah, I'm honestly, very in love. This year we also were able to see each other twice, four weeks of heaven.
Five: Style
This year my fashion style has be evolving into preppy and classic. I have been loving pairing stripes with puffer vests and pearls this winter and can not wait to style more pieces for the up coming spring and summer. As I'm getting closer and closer to being a student teacher, I'm loving getting dressed up for work and class.
Six: Adoption
At the beginning of the year, our family prayed and fasted over adoption and the Lord definitely answered with a clear yes! The process has been anything but easy, my heart has been anything but steady as we've finally gotten our paper work to the Philippines and now are just waiting to hear if we've been matched... I'm looking forward to 2014 and bringing home our sweet little ones
Seven: Starbucks and Chai
This is a given, I'm a daily chai drinker rather that be running through Starbucks or making it in my cute to go mug. I mean, I did reach gold card status at Starbucks : )
Eight: The Adventure of a Future Teacher
This year has been a growing period for my little piece of paradise. I'm so excited to finally begin consistent blogging and have a space where I can truly express myself, my growth as a teacher and student.
Nine: Riley
A year full of my sweet puppy.
Ten: Growing Up
I'm excited about growing up and looking back on this year I can't believe how far I've grown. I can't wait for what 2014 holds. Praise Jesus for new beginnings and unfailing love.
