January Activities Week One
1/12/2014How in the world is it already the first weekend of January, well posting weekly activities... This month's theme is winter and snow. Even though I'm sick of this weather, I can't wait to do the rest of the January crafts with my littles!
Wednesday was our first day back to school after some snow days from the cold-pocalyps. We worked on a snowman name graph which not only was cute but also educational as we counted letters in our names and placed them from names with the most letters to the least. I mentioned earlier that I really want to start making the after care activities slightly more educational and not just a day care. This craft also worked on their handwriting - which is improving greatly from August!
Thursday was another chilly day so we made little hot chocolate mugs and had some during snack time! That may have been a mistake as they were crazy for the rest of the afternoon... lesson learned? I think so!
I completely forgot to get some pictures of Friday's craft, but I'll put in the inspiration that I found on Pinterest : ) By the way, can we just take a moment and take in how glorious Pinterest is?! Like, what did you do before it became so popular?! I get so many great ideas not only for my classroom, but life in general. Thank you Pinterest, thank you.
I found a fabulous website (thanks to Pinterest), which has preschool books and activities for each month of the year, it has been such a great resource! Check it out here!
I hope y'all had a great first week back to school!
