TED Inspirations

1/25/2014

During my first semester at ISU I had one of my all time favorite professors, Dr. Horn. He was beyond passionate for his job and teaching us how to be passionate about our jobs. He didn't cherry coat the reality of teaching, nor did he say it would be roses and rainbows, but he did encourage us. He encouraged us to be passionate anyways, regardless of the system. To love every student who walks through your classroom door, regardless of the cleanliness they may have. Most importantly, Dr. Horn encouraged us to always work inspired and find inspiration in the smallest of places.

One way of inspiring us that semester was showing us TED Talks from educators who have been there, done that. He showed us a more famous one in the educator world, "Every Kid Needs A Champion" by Rita Pierson who sadly passed way in June. Y'all. I am BLOWN away by her words of action and moved to become a champion to each of my kids.

Even if you're not a teacher and have no desire what so ever to become one, please take not even 8 minutes of your time and watch her talk bellow. I'm positive you will leave inspired.
